Overview: The team selected Dyson brand for a project aimed at merging consumer product design with the enhancement of everyday happiness. The project's goal was to deeply integrate Dyson's brand values with practical consumer satisfaction and happiness, deriving insights from an extensive exploration into what happiness means to individuals and how products can embody this sentiment.

Research: The research phase was comprehensive, encompassing both primary and secondary methods, including surveys and interviews. The focus was on understanding:

  1. The concept of happiness and its different types.

  2. Dyson’s existing brand values and their alignment with what brings happiness to consumers.

  3. Consumer perspectives on how products influence their happiness. This culminated in three key insights that laid the groundwork for the product development phase.

Solution: The innovative outcome is "Fresh Track" transforming ordinary refrigerators into advanced smart fridges. This comprehensive system includes a set of sensors and cameras that provide real-time insights into food storage conditions and consumption patterns. Paired with a digital cookbook, it offers tailored recipe suggestions and shopping lists, significantly enhancing the convenience and joy of kitchen management.
